Ted Sumner began his adult life when, after finishing his tour of duty in the United States Army, he entered the field of law enforcement with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to duty in the Main Jail. He later moved to the San Jose Police Department where he was assigned, due in large part to his youthful appearance, to undercover Narcotics duty detailed to infiltrate and bring down the sources of supply of illicit drugs streaming into the local high schools….
